Application Timeline

While some roles may move quickly, others—especially faculty and leadership positions—may take several weeks or months to complete. Applicants are encouraged to monitor their email for updates and reach out to the contact listed in the job posting with specific questions.
- Application Submission
You applied! The search committee will begin reviewing applications after the application deadline.
- Application Review
The application review phase typically takes 2-3 weeks from the application deadline date. However, review times can vary based on applicant pool size and time of year.
- Interview
Interviews are conducted virtually and in-person. Two rounds of interviews are conducted for some positions that include a virtual interview followed by an in-person campus interview.
- Reference Checking
UM conducts reference checking after the interview phase. If you have questions or concerns about the reference checking phase, please address them with the search chair.
